Judges 16:18-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Judges 16 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Delilah tricks Samson into revealing his heart; she then uses that disclosure to weaken him, shaving his head and draining his strength.
Neville's Inner Vision
Judges 16:18–19 becomes for you a study in inner states, not a tale of hair and swords. Delilah is the outer costume of a belief that strength resides in something outside you—the locks, the sign, the approval of Philistines. When Samson tells her his heart, he is surrendering the anchor of his power to an illusion. The I AM—the indwelling awareness you are—remains untouched by such appearances. Your true strength is a state of consciousness, a certainty that you are held by an eternal covenant within, not by a momentary sign or a severed lock. Betrayal reveals the lack of alignment with that inner state; it does not erase the I AM. To reclaim strength, assume and feel from the end that you are the one who cannot be weakened by appearance. Revise in your imagination: ‘My power is the I AM, here and now, inseparable from me.’ Let the sense of wholeness return, and observe how the scene shifts to reflect your inner composure, restoring the vitality that never truly left.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and breathe; repeat, 'I AM the strength within me, the I AM that cannot be shaken.' Visualize the scene dissolving as you revise your power to rest in your inner state.
