Read Judges 13 in context

Scripture Focus

17And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour?
18And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret?
Judges 13:17-18

Biblical Context

Manoah asks the angel's name so they may honor him; the angel replies that the name is secret. This nudges us to consider that true divine presence is an inner reality beyond labels.

Neville's Inner Vision

Manoah’s question seeks a label to honor the visitor, but the angel refrains, calling the name secret. In Neville’s lens, the ‘secret’ name is not a hidden title offered from without; it is the state of consciousness you enter. The encounter is a symbol of your own inner meeting with Presence. When you refuse to pin God to a sound or label, you acknowledge that The Presence is the I AM within. The true prophecy and promise arise only as you dwell in that state, for imagination creates reality and inner movements become outward events. If you want to know the name, assume the experience of being named by God’s awareness: feel the I AM as your enduring identity, and allow obedience and faithfulness to flow from that inner alignment. The more you rest in the inner witness, the more your world aligns with its truth, and the external 'secret' reveals itself as the ongoing activity of your own consciousness.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, declare 'I AM within' and rest in that awareness for 2–5 minutes, revising any doubt by repeating 'The secret name is my awareness now.'
