Biblical Context
Manoah and his wife prepare a kid with a meat offering to the LORD. The angel of the LORD speaks and ascends in the flame, and they fall on their faces in awe.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within the Judges passage, the event is not 'out there' but in here: the angel of the LORD is a state of consciousness, the presence you can wake up to. Manoah and his wife offer a burnt offering to the LORD, and the act is the cycle of surrender to the I AM. When the flame ascends, the vision clarifies: you are witnessing the manifestation of your inner divine identity—the secret name of your being, the true you that cannot be named by the small self. The insistence on detaining the messenger reveals the ego's fear of release; yet the messenger insists the offering must be given to the LORD, not eaten by the self. The rising flame is the ignition of awareness, the moment when the outer world seems to recede and the inner Lord reveals itself. So, the promise and prophecy come alive as you align your acts of worship with the I AM, trusting that imagination is the instrument through which God manifests in your life.
Practice This Now
Practice this now: in quiet awareness, assume you are the I AM and offer a symbolic sacrifice to the LORD within. Feel the fire of consciousness rise and the presence of guidance ascending.
