Inner Possession in Judges

Judges 11:24-27 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Judges 11 in context

Scripture Focus

24Wilt not thou possess that which Chemosh thy god giveth thee to possess? So whomsoever the LORD our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess.
25And now art thou any thing better than Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them,
26While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and her towns, and in Aroer and her towns, and in all the cities that be along by the coasts of Arnon, three hundred years? why therefore did ye not recover them within that time?
27Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but thou doest me wrong to war against me: the LORD the Judge be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.
Judges 11:24-27

Biblical Context

Verse 24 declares that possession comes from Israel's God, not from Chemosh, and that they will take what the LORD drives out. Verse 25–27 challenges rival kings and lands, insisting the LORD will judge this day and that true possession depends on loyalty to the LORD.

Neville's Inner Vision

Look beyond the names of gods and kings. In Neville's voice, the outer conflict is a symbol of inner states clashing for control. Chemosh and Balak represent configurations of consciousness that claim you are ruled by fear, scarcity, or allegiance to a role you think you must play. The LORD the Judge is not a distant supreme court but the I AM within you, the awareness that drives every act of choice. When you hear, 'whomsoever the LORD our God shall drive out from before us, them will we possess,' you are being reminded that all possession begins with a conviction in your own inward sovereignty. The three hundred years and the war with Ammon symbolize persistent mind patterns that keep re-running old outcomes. Your task is not to bargain with outer circumstances but to revise the inner state until the sense of separation dissolves and the inner landscape is claimed. As you align with the I AM, your inner jurisdiction is established, and the external arena begins to reflect that decision as new forms of abundance and right relationships.

Practice This Now

Assume the state: I AM the possessor of all that is mine, here and now. Close your eyes, feel the inner exodus taking place, and notice outer conditions rearranging to match your renewed certainty.
