Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse warns to cry to the gods you have chosen, yet their supposed deliverance fails; true deliverance comes from within, by changing your inner state.
Neville's Inner Vision
Judges 10:14 invites us to see that the gods we cry to reveal our inner states of belief. In the Neville sense, the 'gods' are the habitual thoughts we have mistaken for power. The tribulation is a disturbance of consciousness, a moment when we forget the I AM, the awareness by which we live. To cry to external idols is to admit we have not yet awakened to our own inner authority. Deliverance does not come by appeasing an outer god, but by turning the gaze inward and declaring, I AM the God of my life; I choose the God I serve; I am delivered now. When this recognition sinks into feeling, the idols crumble and the sense of separation dissolves. Your true power is not in the crowd of deities but in the single, undivided awareness that creates reality. Practice then becomes revision of your scene: revise your inner state until the end you desire is felt as already yours, and dwell there until the outer world reflects that inner truth.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, close your eyes and declare, 'I am the God of my life; I choose the God I serve and I am delivered now.' Hold that feeling until it becomes as real as any outer event.
