Inner Deliverance From Idols

Judges 10:13-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Judges 10 in context

Scripture Focus

13Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.
14Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.
Judges 10:13-14

Biblical Context

Judges 10:13-14 declares that turning away from the true God to idols results in no deliverance from Him; it even invites you to cry to those idols for help in trouble. The moral is that inner loyalties determine your sense of power to overcome tribulation.

Neville's Inner Vision

From Neville's standpoint, Judges 10:13-14 becomes a map of your inner states. The people abandon the one life within and worship images of their own making; thus the I AM withdraws the sense of immediate power, and you find yourself crying to the gods you have chosen, waiting for deliverance that never comes. This is not punishment but feedback: your consciousness has misplaced the power. The good news is that you can reverse it in a moment by returning your attention to the I AM—the spacious, unconditioned awareness that you are. When you revise the scene, you claim that the deliverance you seek is already established in you, not located in distant idols. Imagine the state as if it is true now; feel the relief, certainty, and endurance as arising from your own divine I AM. Each tribulation is a signal inviting you to change your assumption. Do not plead with external powers; rather, center your mind in the I AM and let the situation yield to that truth.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling: I AM the deliverer of my life. Revise aloud in your imagination, 'I choose to rely on the I AM now,' and feel the relief as if the tribulation dissolves.
