Dwelling Deep Within
Judges 1:32-33 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Judges 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The tribes fail to drive out the inhabitants, choosing to live among them. Consequently, the Canaanites become tributaries to them.
Neville's Inner Vision
In your inner life the Asherites and Naphtali are parts of you that refuse to be displaced, choosing to dwell among the old Canaanites. When you tolerate these influences, they become secret governors in your consciousness, and the inhabitants become tributaries to your attention and belief. The true presence of God is the I AM awareness within, not an external covenant; therefore the scene must shift by changing your state of consciousness. To change the field, you must revise the belief that some habit or fear can rule this land. Assume the end you desire—that all inner inhabitants have been driven out—and feel as though the land is free and ruled by the I AM. When you insist that you own the land and that no trait of limitation remains resident, the inner Canaanites fade. The moment you feel the end as real, new impulses and purposes arise, and the betrayals of old loyalties dissolve. This shift makes your present experience reflect a new image of sovereignty rather than a lingering compromise.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, close your eyes and assume the state that all inner inhabitants have been driven out; feel the land as sovereign under I AM and carry that feeling into your day.
