Imagined Covenant in Joshua
Joshua 9:11-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Joshua 9:11-13 describes the people presenting outward signs and requesting a treaty; it shows how appearances can mislead and highlights the need for discernment in forming a true inner covenant.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the Neville lens, Joshua 9:11-13 is a primer in inner covenant, not a treaty among strangers. The bread dried, the wine rent, the worn garments are symbols the senses offer to prove time and distance, yet you know time is a function of consciousness. The 'league' spoken to the people is your decision to make an inner agreement with a desired state—unity, wisdom, loving your neighbor within—so that you no longer serve old stories but the I AM that you truly are. When you feel the need to justify limits, revise the feeling: imagine you are already in harmony with the very thing you seek, and observe how the signs shift to support your new assumption. The I AM does not negotiate with lack; it creates by assumption. So, stand in the covenant now: I and my neighbor are one; I am joined with the good I seek. Your imagination then becomes the evidence, not the other way round.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Make the inner league by declaring, 'I am one with the good I seek and with my neighbor within.' Then feel-it-real by mentally reframing outward signs as proof of your present unity.
