Joshua 5:9

Biblical Context

This verse states that the reproach of Egypt is rolled away today, and the place is named Gilgal as a sign of renewal and a fresh inner start.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this verse the I AM speaks to Joshua as it speaks to me: the reproach of Egypt is rolled away from off you this day. Reproach is a belief carried as a memory of bondage; a state of consciousness I have worn as my own. Gilgal is not a place on a map, but a moment I name in my heart, the moment I awaken to a renewed consciousness, free of the old judgments. The crossing of the Jordan is not history; it is my inner decision to pass from limitation to freedom by choosing a new state. When I acknowledge that I am the I AM, I release the burden of the past, and my inner landscape is renamed, renewed, and reconciled with the Covenant I bear. Mercy flows as I stop demanding it from without and claim it as my inner reality; I become the new creation in which old reproach has no power. Thus my life stands in Gilgal—a present, inner shift where identity, memory, and possibility align under the decree that I am wholly free.

Practice This Now

Take 5 minutes to imagine you are at Gilgal—the moment your old reproach is rolled away. In this state, repeat softly I AM free; feel the new sense of identity and the release of the past.
