Jordan's Edge: Hear the LORD
Joshua 3:8-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Priests bearing the ark are commanded to stand still at the Jordan's brink. Joshua then invites all Israel to come near and hear the words of the LORD their God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture the priests bearing the ark as your inner faculties carrying the constant presence. They are told to stand still at the brink of the Jordan, not to panic the waters but to anchor your attention in the I AM. Joshua’s invitation, 'Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God,' is your inner directive to listen to the divine decree already spoken within. The Jordan is the flow of circumstance, fear, desire, and movement; by standing still you permit the inner word to part the waters and reveal the way. Your obedience is faith expressed as consciousness choosing not to chase outcomes but to affirm the truth you are: the presence that commands the currents. When you imagine from this stance, you do not beg for a miracle—you assume that the promise is already fulfilled. You walk in, not by effort, but by the certainty of I AM, and the boundary of the river dissolves inside your sense of self. Thus you cross into the realm of your covenant, here and now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine the ark-bearing consciousness standing at the water's edge. Feel the I AM within you whisper the decree; revise doubt and imagine that you have already crossed.
