Crossing Jordan Within
Joshua 3:8-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Priests bearing the ark stand in the Jordan; when their feet rest in the waters, the river parts and the Israelites cross, a sign that the living God is among them.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of Joshua 3:8-13 as an inner map. The Jordan is the restless stream of your present conditions; the ark is the I AM within you—the unchanging Presence that cannot be moved by circumstance. When Joshua invites the people to hear the words of the Lord your God, he is inviting your consciousness to attend to its own truth: the living God is among you. The miracle occurs not by outward marching alone but by the feet of the priests (your disciplined attention) resting in the waters with a sure assumption. Then the waters part and a path appears for you to cross from lack to abundance, from fear to confidence. The ark goes before into Jordan, signaling inner guidance leading the way. The twelve men symbolize the twelve facets of your awareness brought into alignment. You are not crossing a river; you are crossing a belief about yourself into a state of realized presence.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume the state 'I am the Presence here and now; the Jordan parts for me.' Feel it as real, and let this inner turning seed your outward experience.
