Sanctify and Rise: Inner Crossing
Joshua 3:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Joshua instructs the people to sanctify themselves because tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among them. He then tells the priests to carry the ark before the people, and the Lord promises to magnify Joshua as He was with Moses.
Neville's Inner Vision
Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you becomes Your life invites a new ordering of your inner world; sanctification is the discipline of reorienting attention toward the I AM within until the old fears lose their grip. The ark of the covenant, carried before the people, represents the presence you choose to walk in—the invisible leadings you consciously acknowledge as governing your daily steps. When you pass over, you authorize a procession of awareness that moves before action, showing your faith in the unseen order you already are. The Lord's words to Joshua, 'This day will I begin to magnify thee' signal a shift of inner scale: as you persist in an inner alignment, you begin to appear larger to yourself and to your surroundings, not by effort but by revelation of your true state. And 'as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee' becomes your own memory of the I AM's continuity—your present assurance that the divine Presence is constant with you, now and forever. In practice, dwell in the awareness that you are sanctified, led, and magnified in the sight of your own mind.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, breathe, and in your imagination place an inner ark at your heart. Declare, 'I am sanctified; the I AM is with me now,' and feel the wonder as if it were already so.
