Inner Jordan Crossing
Joshua 3:3-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Follow the commanded path: keep the Ark before you, stay a measured distance, sanctify yourselves, and trust that God is with you to drive out obstacles. The crossing of Jordan becomes a metaphor for inner movement when we align with the divine presence.
Neville's Inner Vision
Joshua shows us that the ark is the I AM in you, moving ahead in consciousness. The instruction to keep your distance is a call to honor the Presence, not by fear but by disciplined attention so your outer world can follow the inner direction. Sanctification is internal alignment—the decision that you will not bargain with doubt, that you will dwell in the wonder-working presence. When the priests bear the ark and go before the people, imagine your own faculties bearing the sacred idea of I AM and moving into the Jordan of uncertainty with calm certainty. The Lord says, This day I begin to magnify thee; so, as you persist in faith, your mental image becomes the visible sign of the promised result. The living God is among you when you realize you are that Living One within. With consistent inner revision, the apparent Canaanite fears melt, and the path opens as a consequence of your inner alignment.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and assume the I AM is leading you, seeing yourself as the ark moving before your life. Repeat, I am the Presence that parts the Jordan.
