Crossing Jordan: Inner Waters

Joshua 3:15-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Joshua 3 in context

Scripture Focus

15And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
16That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.
Joshua 3:15-16

Biblical Context

Joshua 3:15-16 describes the priests with the ark entering the Jordan as its waters back up, allowing all Israel to pass over toward Jericho—an outward sign of divine providence responding to inner obedience.

Neville's Inner Vision

The Jordan is not a mere river but a state of consciousness in which you stand before a new form. The ark of the Lord is the I AM within you; when the priests dip their feet into the brim, consciousness takes the first step into the boundary of change. The waters rising into a heap away from Adam and Zaretan signal that the old pattern yields to the new mental alignment that your inner command has already established. The people crossing straight to Jericho represents the birth of a new life under Providence. The miracle occurs as you remain the ark-holder—fully aware, trusting in the inner guidance—and revise your sense of limitation by assuming the outcome as real. Providence is not distant; it is the living I AM guiding you now, reorganizing outward conditions to accord with your inner state.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and place the ark of awareness at the edge of your Jordan. Assume the waters have backed up and imagine yourself stepping across to Jericho, already accomplished in your inner world.
