Crossing Jordan Within
Joshua 3:12-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Twelve men from the tribes are chosen to represent the people. When the priests bearing the ark step into the Jordan, the waters back up, allowing all Israel to cross on dry ground.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the Jordan as the stream of your present state. The priests are your moments of attention bearing the ark—your awareness—the I AM that you truly are. When you decide, in imagination, to let your awareness stand at the edge of the current belief and place the sole of your inner priest’s foot in the water, you are not attempting to conquer outward conditions; you are shifting your inner state. The waters rising and parting symbolize the old thought-feelings that once dictated conditions. As the feet touch, the river yields, not to force, but because you have accepted a greater reality within. The people crossing on dry ground are your external life rearranged to match the inner alignment; the Ark remains, the I AM remains, and all Israel—your entire belief system—moves as one under the same rhythm of awareness. This is not a historical event; it is a symbolic drama of consciousness: when the inner law is obeyed, the exterior scene kneecaps to your inner feeling of the possible.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and affirm, 'I AM the Presence now.' Imagine yourself as the priest bearing the ark stepping into the Jordan of belief and feel the waters part as you stand firm on dry ground.
