The Inner Covenant Fire

Joshua 24:19-20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Joshua 24 in context

Scripture Focus

19And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.
20If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
Joshua 24:19-20

Biblical Context

Joshua warns that the people cannot serve the LORD because He is holy and jealous; if they forsake Him for other gods, He will judge them after He has blessed them.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your being, Joshua’s warning mirrors a single truth: you are not divided, you are one I AM choosing where to dwell. The LORD is a holy, jealous God; his jealousy is not personal wrath but a piercing insistence that the consciousness fix itself on a single allegiance. When you claim to serve the LORD while nurturing fear, desire, or ego as rival deities, the inner kingdom fractures and you feel the sting of consequence—loss, hurt, depletion—after the good you have known. Yet the phrase 'he hath done you good' speaks to the inner mechanism: the good you glimpse is to remind you of your capacity for steadfast loyalty. The cure is not outward ritual but inner alignment: assume you are the I AM; revise any split in your heart; feel the reality of a single, unwavering covenant. Let the strange gods dissolve as you cultivate the consciousness that there is nowhere else to dwell but the one God within you, now.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling of being the I AM and revise away all competing loyalties; feel the inner covenant as your only true allegiance.
