Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The people recall how God rescued them from bondage and led them through the wilderness, and they pledge to serve Him as their God. They recognize the signs and victories as grounds for their commitment.
Neville's Inner Vision
Joshua 24:17-18 is not a mere historical tableau, but a map of consciousness. 'The LORD our God' is your own I AM, the awareness that brought you up from bondage of fear into the liberty of now. The 'great signs' you witnessed are inner demonstrations—the felt truths when a new perspective dawns and old limitations crumble. The passage speaks of many nations that stood before you, yet the true conquest is inside: the Amorites are the stubborn habits and beliefs you currently allow to dwell in the land of your mind. When you acknowledge that God 'drave out' these obstacles, you are naming the elimination of doubt and lack by the power of awareness. Therefore, you say, 'we will serve the LORD; for he is our God'—a refusal to worship anything but the I AM within, an oath of covenant loyalty to your own consciousness. Practice this as a daily assumption: see yourself already free, treat your life as the promised land, and let gratitude for inner deliverance govern your choices.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I am delivered; the I AM within me leads now.' Revise any lingering doubt by feeling the loyalty to this inner God as your governing principle.
