Inner Inheritance and God's Fight
Joshua 23:3-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 23 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse speaks of an inheritance given by the Lord and a people empowered to possess it. The Lord's fighting for them marks the inner work of consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, Joshua speaks from your own I AM: the mighty acts of the Lord are within the consciousness that says, 'I have fought for you' with every heartbeat. The remaining nations are not far lands but the stubborn habits and fears that have not yet been claimed by your sovereign center. The Jordan is the threshold you cross in imagination, and the great sea westward is the limitless horizon of your awareness when you stop looking outside and begin to look inside. As you acknowledge that the Lord your God has divided to you the inheritance, you acknowledge your own right to a new state of being. The expulsion of enemies is the clearing of thought—your attention removes pattern after pattern that no longer serves the promised land. The covenant loyalty is not an external contract but the inner agreement of your I AM with itself: you shall possess the land because you have decided it is so, now, here, in this present moment.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: tonight, close your eyes and declare silently, I AM the one who has already inherited the land; feel the victory as real until it rests in your bones.
