Biblical Context
Phinehas and the leaders rejoice when the eastern tribes speak, recognizing that the LORD is among Israel; by not trespassing against the LORD, they avert judgment and secure deliverance.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the Neville Goddard lens, this passage is not a geographical scene but an inner drama. The report that 'the LORD is among us' arises when the mind, symbolized by Phinehas and the priestly body, does not trespass against its higher law. The trespass is the belief that you are separate from God; when you choose loyalty to the inner covenant—that you are one with the I AM—the presence becomes palpable. Your inner leaders, the 'princes' of your consciousness, declare that the divine governance has not been overthrown by fear or division, and thus you are delivered from the hand of fear. The words are not about a tribal boundary but about a boundary dissolved in consciousness: a state of unity, obedience to your inner spiritual law, and trust that God is not distant but within. When such alignment occurs, presence appears as calm clarity, decisive action, and a feeling that you have been saved from inner conflict. This is how faithfulness to the I AM manifests as reality.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume, 'The LORD is among me now'—the feeling of the I AM in your whole being. Hold this unity for a minute, then revise any sense of separation until it dissolves.
