Inner Land Survey and Lot
Joshua 18:8-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 18 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The men describe the land by cities into seven parts, and Joshua casts lots before the LORD to divide the land among the tribes.
Neville's Inner Vision
To you, the scene is a mirror of your inner kingdom. The land is your field of awareness; its seven parts are the seven aspects of your life you are invited to become conscious of—habits, desires, relationships, health, work, faith, and purpose. The instruction to walk and describe is a discipline of attention: name each part, stand in front of it, and acknowledge what you are willing to embrace or release. Casting lots before the LORD is not chance; it is aligning choice with the I AM within, the unconditioned witness that neither judges nor condemns but simply knows. Shiloh, the place where the LORD is present, is your inner stillness where guidance arises; by consulting this sanctuary you place each division under a higher law. When you perform this now, you declare that the land is already yours in consciousness; you enact the division by imagination and law, and allow the natural order to separate and allot according to the divisions you have recognized. The result is a felt-done sense of possession, not distant someday.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and walk through your inner land, naming its seven parts and declaring, 'I have received this land.' Feel it as real now.
