Inner Borders of Manasseh
Joshua 17:7-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 17 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
These verses describe how Manasseh's land is bounded by Ephraim, Asher, and the sea, showing a map of tribal territories. They also hint at how loyalties and possessions are distributed within the people.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice that the coast of Manasseh, from Asher to Michmethah, stands not as geography but as the arrangement of your inner state. The border running toward the inhabitants of Entappuah is your mental boundary toward familiar thoughts and identities. When Manasseh includes the land of Tappuah, yet Tappuah lies on Ephraim's border, you are reminded that parts of yourself can be conferred to another state of consciousness that you have not fully integrated. The descent to the Kanah river marks the flow of feeling through your psyche; the cities of Ephraim among Manasseh are the busy sectors of your mind that still operate in another mode. The north border and the sea signify the reach of consciousness itself, the I AM that is limitless. The meeting in Asher on the north and Issachar on the east indicates the unity of strength and insight within you when you align all parts under the single awareness. The promise is a spiritual claim: you can redraw your borders by identifying with your I AM and letting unity govern every corner of your inner land.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and visualize the map of your inner land; place yourself at the border and say, 'From this I AM, I claim unity, fullness, and providence.' Feel the sense of a single, expansive coast meeting every part of your being, and revise any boundary until it hums with harmony.
