Gezer and the Inner Conqueror

Joshua 16:10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Joshua 16 in context

Scripture Focus

10And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day, and serve under tribute.
Joshua 16:10

Biblical Context

Gezer's Canaanites were not expelled; they stayed among the Ephraimites and served under tribute.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner map of your mind, Gezer represents stubborn aspects you tolerate—habits, fears, doubt—that you have not taxed with the authority of your I AM. Because you did not drive them out, they remain resident in your awareness and you continue to yield energy to them, living under their tribute. Neville teaches that outer events reflect inner states: if you consent to their rule, you remain under their dominion. Yet the I AM within you is sovereign; when you assume a new state—one of complete self-command and presence—the inner Gezer loses its power. By revising your belief from lack to sufficiency and feeling the reality of that new state, you dissolve the old tenants. Each unchallenged Canaanite signals a belief you have not fully asserted as true in you. Wake to the truth that your mind can command itself into a higher posture, and the landscape of your life will align with that declared sovereignty.

Practice This Now

Choose one stubborn habit and in imagination declare that Gezer has no authority over you; visualize the gates closing and the Canaanites leaving, then dwell in the feeling of being free and fully present as I AM.
