Caleb’s Covenant: Inner Reward

Joshua 15:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Joshua 15 in context

Scripture Focus

16And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.
Joshua 15:16

Biblical Context

Caleb declares that whoever conquers Kirjathsepher will be given his daughter Achsah in marriage. The vow binds obedience and ambition to a concrete reward within Israel's covenant.

Neville's Inner Vision

Kirjathsepher is a fortress in my own consciousness—an inner limitation I have accepted as real. The command to smite it is a decision of the I AM to refuse that limitation and to act from the assumption that the desired state is already mine. Caleb’s pledge—giving Achsah to the man who takes the city—becomes an inner covenant: fidelity to the imaginative act yields results that feel like blessings, aligning wealth and provision with my true nature. Achsah stands for the fulfilled desire—marriage to the inner world where I live as if the wish is done. Obedience here is staying with the feeling that the wish is accomplished, regardless of appearances. When I persist in this inner state, the fortress falls and the covenant manifests in outer reality: prosperity, companionship, and a sense of secure belonging.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling that you have already conquered your inner fortress and claim the blessing now; dwell in that sensation for several minutes as if it is your present reality.
