Caleb's Hebron Springs
Joshua 15:13-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 15 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Caleb is allotted Hebron as his portion and conquers the surrounding land. Achsah asks for springs, and Caleb grants both the upper and nether springs.
Neville's Inner Vision
Caleb’s Hebron is your inner stronghold. When you read this, imagine that Caleb is the I AM within you, driving out the sons of Anak—the fears and stubborn beliefs that stand between you and your true habitation. The city Debir, Kirjathsepher, is a doorway you pass through, a belief you claim as yours, and the vow to give Achsah to wife signals your invitation to life and partnership: the highest self is given entrance into your heart’s inner family. Othniel, Caleb’s brother, receiving Debir, represents the fruit born when you stand in the conquered state and invite gifts of life through action. Achsah’s request for a field and for springs—“Bless me, for you have given me a south land; give me also springs of water”—is the natural demand of a living consciousness for nourishment and vitality. When Caleb grants the upper and nether springs, it is the affirmation that your inner state provides both the spiritual and the material streams that sustain you. Providence isn’t distant; it is the pattern of your own decision to inhabit and bless your world.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state of Caleb—your I AM gifting yourself Hebron. Then revise a lack into abundance by declaring, I now claim springs of life within me, and feel the vitality flowing.
