Inheriting the Inner Land

Joshua 14:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Joshua 14 in context

Scripture Focus

5As the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.
Joshua 14:5

Biblical Context

The verse describes the Israelites following the LORD's command from Moses and, as a result, dividing the land.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your consciousness the LORD is the I AM you awaken as. The command to Moses stands as a principle of inner order: when you align your thoughts with that order, you act faithfully within your own story. The division of land is not geography but the apportioned faculties of your mind—health, wealth, purpose, peace—each allocated according to obedience to the divine guideline you cherish. When you hear the inner directive and obey it, your inner country is settled; your desires are measured and allotted according to your fidelity to that inner law. The outer events of life become an outward map of your inner agreement: the more you keep faith with the command, the more your inner borders are established and your roads open. Do not seek to force; seek to align. The I AM within is the one giving the order; your imagination is the instrument that experiences the fulfillment. As you remain faithful to the inner command, your inner Israel divides the land and you discover the realm you seek already present within you.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, assume the end—see your inner land already divided and yours; feel it now, as if you inhabit the fulfilled state. Repeat I AM and let the wish feel real in your chest.
