Enduring Strength Beyond Age
Joshua 14:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 14 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses recount Joshua’s aging yet unflagging strength, proving perseverance, faith, and covenant loyalty sustain vitality and hope for the future. It speaks to inner continuity rather than external decline.
Neville's Inner Vision
Behold the inner scene: Joshua’s age is not a fact about dwindling years but a symbol of a steadfast state of consciousness. The Lord keeping him alive for forty-five years is the assurance that your I AM preserves the life of your vision as you dwell in it. When he states he is eighty-five, he names a present identity; he does not concede weakness, for his strength is unchanged from the day Moses sent him to war. This is your cue: time does not diminish power—imagination does the work of renewal. The war he speaks of is the ongoing inward battle between limitation and the fierce faith that your true self is alive, capable, and victorious. So you may adopt his stance: revise the sense of age and condition until you feel the same energy in your present moment as you did in your earliest confidence. Maintain covenant loyalty to the word spoken within you; the future is the demonstration of a consciousness that refuses decay. Your strength is not earned; it is acknowledged, affirmed, and felt real here and now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, touch your heart, and revise your sense of self: I am as strong now as I was then. Feel the strength in every breath and imagine going out and coming in with effortless victory.
