Inner Boundaries Of The Mind
Joshua 13:9-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 13 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
These verses enumerate lands allotted east of the Jordan and note that some Geshurites and Maachathites remained living among Israel.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider these verses as a map of your inner country. The Arnon bank and the plains are edges and fields of your awareness, and the cities of Sihon mark fixed beliefs you have accepted as real. Gilead and Mount Hermon symbolize the heights of your thinking you reach in moments of clarity. The note that Geshurites and Maachathites dwell within Israel shows how some thoughts and habits refuse to be expelled, living quietly within the self you call mine. The giants Og and his remnant stand for yesterday's magnitudes that still threaten you; yet Moses’ smiting is memory of you casting them out in imagination. The essential truth is this: land is won by inner governance—by the assumed state you dwell in, not by outward battles alone. To possess the Kingdom of God within, you must align your boundaries with the I AM, the awareness that you are. When you revise and assume a higher inner occupancy, the old tenants depart and you inhabit a more luminous, powerful self.
Practice This Now
Assume the inner ruler state: I am the ruler of my inner land; I have expelled the Geshurites and Maachathites and now dwell in the Kingdom within. Feel it real by repeating the assertion until it resonates in every thought.
