Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Joshua 13:2-5 lists the land that remains to be possessed and describes its borders. It presents a geographic map that symbolically mirrors the inner boundaries of the heart and mind.
Neville's Inner Vision
That which Joshua calls the land yet remaining is not a parcel of earth but a map of your inner kingdom awaiting your recognition. The borders—Philistines, Geshuri, Sidonians, Amorites, Lebanon, Hermon—are the habitual regions of your consciousness where certain states hold sway. They are not foreign powers but orientations of mind you have not yet consented to redraw in accord with the I AM. When you abide in the I AM, you cease to argue with the outer world and begin to align your inner geography with covenant loyalty. Providence appears as a guiding, inner wind that moves your attention toward the edges of limitation and toward the high mountains of awareness; you see the northern border as the expanding horizon of possibility, the southern border as the roots of your past dissolving. The “land of the Giblites” and the lands beyond become symbols of unity with the whole, a reminder that you are part of a single Kingdom with a single ruler—your true I AM. Claiming this land is simply waking to what you already are: the one consciousness that exists beyond time and space.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and repeat, 'I AM the Lord of this inner land.' Then imagine tracing the borders on your mental map from Sihor to Hamath, feeling the old edges dissolve as you claim your entire inner territory.
