Inner Possession and Kingship Realized
Joshua 12:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 12 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Moses, the LORD’s servant, assigns land to Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh; Joshua and Israel conquer the western kings and distribute the land by tribe. The passage marks a shift from conquest to possession and governance.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville’s view the land represents inner states of consciousness and the kings are resistant beliefs. Moses embodies an older, outward-oriented memory self; his act of granting land signals you to fix certain faculties within your inner map. The western kings defeated by Joshua symbolize fears that claim, 'this is not for you,' now conquered by the I AM present within you. As Joshua distributes the land to the tribes, you consciously assign inner territories—courage, faith, peace, and creative power—according to the divisions you choose in imagination. The Jordan crossing becomes the moment you cease playing small and allow the I AM to reign, reordering your inner geography. The overarching message is that the kingdom is not a distant promise but a present reality you cultivate by imagining possession and ruling from within. Your consciousness is the land; your awareness the ruler; your life becomes what you decide to claim and dwell in now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you already possess the inner land you seek. Feel the reality now and declare, 'I am the possessor of this promise.'
