Inner Conquest Of The Mind
Joshua 11:8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 11 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The LORD delivers the enemies into Israel's hand, who smite them and chase them to distant places until none remain.
Neville's Inner Vision
Joshua 11:8 may read as a record of conquest, but its true scripture is psychological. The LORD here is the I AM you are, the awareness that can levy a command and have it obeyed. The enemies are the stubborn thoughts and habits that have claimed sovereignty in your mind. When you assume a distinct inner state—'I am delivered'—those thoughts are handed over to your power, they are smitten by your decisive imagination, and you actively chase them toward the far edges of Zidon and Misrephothmaim, toward Mizpeh, the rising awareness at the east. As you press on, you shift the center of gravity of your consciousness until nothing remains but the sure quiet of victory. The conquest is not outward but inward: your perception shifts, your life follows the new inner alignment, and you discover you have not only survived but truly triumphed, as if the land lies cleared by the will of I AM.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling that you are already delivered. See the inner enemies being driven away by your I AM and rest in the steady sense of total victory for a few minutes.
