Merom Waters, Inner Victory
Joshua 11:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 11 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Kings gathered at Merom to fight Israel. The Lord tells Joshua not to fear because deliverance will come, and he is commanded to destroy the horses and burn the chariots.
Neville's Inner Vision
In your inner life, the 'kings' are the fears, doubts, and conflicting images vying for control. The waters of Merom stand at the threshold where you choose how you will think. God's word 'Be not afraid' is the I AM asserting its dominion over every impression of danger. The promise that 'tomorrow I will deliver them' is not a timeline but a creative invitation to assume the state of victory now. To 'hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire' is to relinquish the habitual mental weapons—the fears, stories, and identifications—that keep you bound to conflict. If you consent to this truth and dwell in the feeling of deliverance, you become the witness and the victory; your outer scene begins to align with the inner decree. You are the conqueror who stands in the present moment, the consciousness that commands the dream and declares it fulfilled.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, breathe, and assume the feeling of deliverance now; picture the waters parting and you walking free, with the weapons of doubt burned away.
