Inner Conquest of Joshua 11:12-15
Joshua 11:12-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 11 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage narrates Joshua’s and Israel’s conquest under divine command, destroying the cities and leaving nothing undone. It highlights obedience, faithfulness, and the seriousness of following divine instruction.
Neville's Inner Vision
Joshua is your mind under the authority of I AM. The cities and kings symbolize states of consciousness you have entertained as real; the edge of the sword is the decisive word you speak when you assume a new reality. When the command comes—'as the LORD commanded'—you do not limp in hesitation; you dissolve what no longer serves your kingdom and release its energy as spoil for your inner treasury. The burning of Hazor marks the deliberate removal of a stubborn fortification of fear you have allowed to stand. The line 'As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua' reveals that the inner law has continuity: your present awareness issues the command, and your mind obeys it completely, leaving nothing undone of the divine instruction. Notice, the result is not external conquest for conquest's sake, but the alignment of your imagination with a fixed, overarching purpose. When you inhabit this rhythm, the outer world adjusts to reflect order, clearness, and the sense that the true city—your own consciousness—has been seized by the I AM and made holy.
Practice This Now
Assume you have already fulfilled the divine command today. Close your eyes, feel the I AM within, and speak a single command to dissolve a limit; imagine the city walls dissolving into light and sense the inner abundance arising.
