Debir Cleared Within
Joshua 10:38-39 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 10 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Joshua and Israel return to Debir, fight it, take the city, its king, and all its inhabitants, utterly destroying them as they did to Hebron and Libnah.
Neville's Inner Vision
To me, Debir is an inner city of belief I have not yet surrendered. When Joshua returns with Israel, I witness awareness entering that belief and razing it with the edge of a clear decision. The act of taking Debir and destroying the souls within is not external violence but the cutting of a stubborn thought-form that claims power over my life. The pattern—as with Hebron and Libnah—shows that once a lie is exposed and faced, the entire system dissolves. There, the 'king' of Debir represents a fixed identity I have allowed to govern my actions and fate. The utter destruction means I no longer grant that identity space to operate in my mind; the cities and their populations are habits dissolved by the decisive ray of awareness. By aligning with Joshua, I align with the I AM, and the inner landscape is cleared for a higher move of justice and holiness. The result is a renewed field of consciousness where obedience and faithfulness become living reality, not distant promise.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Assume Debir is conquered in your mind now and revise the belief by declaring, 'I AM that regulates my life.' Feel the release as the old identity dissolves and your inner city becomes clear and peaceful.
