Inner Conquest Of Lachish
Joshua 10:34-35 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Joshua and Israel conquer Eglon after Lachish, destroying all within. In Neville's lens, this signifies an inner conquest of a prior state of consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Joshua 10:34-35 speaks of a rapid relocation of the land within the mind. Lachish and Eglon are not places but states of awareness. When 'Israel with him' encamps and engages, the battle is not against bodies but against the stubborn images of the former self. The edge of the sword is your cutting through of habitual thought—when you refuse to entertain the old vision, you are effectively destroying 'all the souls' that dwelt in that former sense of self. The line 'that day' reminds you that a single decision in consciousness can close the door on a lingering pattern; what was done to Lachish is done to the past self, and so the present becomes free to inhabit a newly aligned state. This is the law: you reap the form of your inner actions. The collective 'Israel' in you represents the support of your higher consciousness; you are both the conqueror and the conquered, and you choose to reign in your own mind by steady, faithful insistence on the new reality. The moment you adopt the victorious inner posture, the outer manifestations follow as naturally as night yields to day.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and picture moving from Lachish (the old state) to Eglon (the new). Then declare, I assume the reality of this higher state now and feel it real, letting the old pattern dissolve.
