Biblical Context
Five Amorite kings unite to attack Gibeon after it made peace with Joshua and Israel.
Neville's Inner Vision
See in this chapter not a map of armies, but a map of consciousness. Adonizedec and the five kings are the currents of fear, doubt, and pride that rise against your Gibeon—the peace you have already entered with Joshua, your inner conqueror, and with Israel, the faithful company of awareness. Gibeon speaks of a decision made within, to walk in harmony with your I AM, the unshakable now. When the heirs of the ego gather to 'smite' Gibeon, they are only testing the reality you have already assumed in consciousness. The drama shows that perception precedes outward events; the moment you accept the covenant—peace with Joshua and the children of Israel—the outer world must reflect that inner destiny. Your true position is the covenant state: you are the one who has united with the divine order, and all the kings of fear are summoned to test that union. When you persist in the feeling of being already there, the fear-kings dissolve in the radiance of your awareness and the battle becomes a confirmation of your sovereignty.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume the identity of the I AM and revise any fear that breaks your peace. Feel as if you are already in covenant with Joshua and Israel, letting that sense saturate every thought.
