Courage in the Inner Law

Joshua 1:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Joshua 1 in context

Scripture Focus

7Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:7

Biblical Context

The verse instructs Joshua to be strong and courageous, keeping faith with all the law so he may prosper wherever he goes.

Neville's Inner Vision

Joshua 1:7 speaks to you as a call to align your entire being with the inner law. Strength and courage are not loud bravado but the quiet, unshakable assurance that your I AM governs every moment. The law Moses delivered is a pattern of consciousness you must observe within: think in consistence with it, feel as if it already is so, and act in harmony with its commands. To turn from it to the right or left is to scatter attention through fear, doubt, or egoic preference; to stay true is to keep your awareness fixed on the governing principle you have chosen. When you practice this inner obedience, prosperity becomes a natural outflow, not a distant result. Each decision is a choosing of alignment over resistance, each moment a renewed declaration that you are governed by the inner law you have accepted. The external world then reflects that inner order, for God—the I AM—is your constant awareness, and awareness is creative. You are not commanded to conquer alone; you are invited to remember who you are.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the role of Joshua who already keeps the inner law; declare, 'I am the I AM, obedient to the law within, turning neither to the right nor the left.' Then feel the sense of prosperous action flowing through you in every step.
