Inner Courage, Outer Promise
Joshua 1:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joshua 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God tells Joshua to be strong and courageous as he leads the people to their inheritance. He must remain faithful to the entire law to prosper wherever he goes.
Neville's Inner Vision
Joshua 1:6-7 becomes a map of the inner state. 'Be strong and of a good courage' is not about brute resolve but about the I AM aligning with its own certainty. The land is not a charted territory apart from you; it is the fulfilled promise of your own consciousness when you dwell in the awareness that you already possess what you seek. 'Observe to do according to all the law' means keep faith with your inner law—the principle that your imagination, once felt as real, determines outward form. Do not turn to the right or left from this inner alignment; the only path to manifestation is steady obedience to the inner instruction, not to fleeting appearances. As Moses' servant commands, you are called to prosper whithersoever you go by maintaining this inner covenant, by acting from the end, by feeling the wish fulfilled and letting the world reflect it. The promise rests on your fidelity to consciousness; your courage inflames the atmosphere of possibility until the land becomes your life.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine you already possess the land—feel the soil beneath your feet and affirm, I AM the owner of this inheritance. Move today from that inner certainty, acting as if the promise already stands realized.
