Inner Covenant Loyalty Unveiled

Joshua 1:16-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Joshua 1 in context

Scripture Focus

16And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.
17According as we hearkened unto Moses in all things, so will we hearken unto thee: only the LORD thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
Joshua 1:16-17

Biblical Context

The verse expresses a wholehearted pledge of obedience: they will do whatever Joshua commands and follow him wherever he leads, just as they obeyed Moses.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice that line as an inner declaration, not a history. You are saying, with your whole attention, that you will do what you command and go where you send me—the exact act of aligning your entire being with a higher lead. Moses represents a former state of external law; Joshua embodies your present I AM, the waking consciousness that can be moved by a higher idea. When you hear and answer, you are confirming covenant loyalty: the inner recognition that the Presence of God accompanies your decision, not as distant power but as your living awareness. Obedience becomes trust in an inward economy, where the command flows from the stillness of the I AM and you follow it with faith. The promise 'the LORD thy God be with thee' becomes your inner condition: you walk as one attended by divine companionship, not by external proof. Each act of following is a revision of your mental state until you feel the leading and the Presence as one reality. Thus loyalty to the inner commander becomes radical trust in God within.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and declare, 'I am led by the I AM within me; the Presence of God is with me now.' Then feel your inner path align with a clear, confident direction.
