Jonah 3:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Jonah 3 in context

Scripture Focus

2Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
Jonah 3:2

Biblical Context

God commands Jonah to arise, go to Nineveh, and proclaim the message He bids.

Neville's Inner Vision

Jonah is a state of consciousness hearing the I AM assign a mission to a portion of his inner city. 'Arise' is the command to shift from sleep to awareness; 'Nineveh, that great city' is the territory of strong beliefs and habits within you; 'preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee' means deliver the truth that this higher self dictates, not your own opinion. When you accept this as your inner assignment, you become the preacher to the mind you inhabit. The word you deliver is not outward judgments but a clearing of concepts—the vision or conviction that you have already created and must now give form to. Obedience to the I AM aligns your inner vibrations with the state you seek; you do not persuade Nineveh so much as persuade yourself from limitation to remembrance of your true self. As you imagine speaking the bid you have received, the inner city responds in kind, dissolving fears, renewing energy, and preparing the way for manifestation.

Practice This Now

Sit in stillness and assume you are the I AM’s messenger to Nineveh within. Visualize receiving a specific message and speaking it aloud, then feel the city inside you responding as fear and doubt fade and new life takes hold.
