Biblical Context

Jonah says he is cast into the deep and surrounded by seas. The floods, billows, and waves pass over him.

Neville's Inner Vision

From Neville's perspective, the 'deep' is not punishment but the vast underground of your own mind. The 'seas' are the turbulent states of fear, doubt, and loss of control you entertain in a moment when life seems out of hand. When you hear 'thou hast cast me into the deep,' recognize that you are either projecting or consenting to a state of consciousness that feels overpowering. The waves passing over you are the continuous motion of belief in separation, lack, or danger. Yet the I AM within you remains untouched, steady, the one undeniable fact that you are, and your imagination is the instrument by which you reclaim order. Do not battle the waves; revise the meaning of the experience by affirming that you are the I AM, that you have invited calm by your present awareness, and that the storm serves to awaken you to the truth of your own ruling consciousness. Salvation and Providence appear as you acknowledge the inner court of your own mind where the waves calm and your will aligns with creation.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and imagine the sea around you calming to a still surface as you affirm, 'I am the I AM.' Then dwell in the feeling of being unshaken by circumstance.
