Read John 9 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus finds the healed man and asks if he believes in the Son of God; the man seeks to know, Jesus reveals the inner Son, the man believes and worships, and Jesus speaks of sight and judgment as inner states.
Neville's Inner Vision
John 9 reveals the inner drama of belief. The man who was cast out stands at the door of his own consciousness, and Jesus asks, 'Dost thou believe on the Son of God?' The question is not to validate a historical person but to awaken your own awareness to the Son within—the I AM that you really are. When the man asks, 'Who is he, Lord?' he is asking, 'Who am I when I stop narrating my past and listen to the living talk of the inner Self?' Jesus answers, 'Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.' In that instant, belief becomes worship, a turning of attention from outer appearances to the inner light. The statement about judgment shows that those who say 'we see' prove their blindness by clinging to old conclusions. Real seeing is a state of consciousness that dissolves separation; the more I acknowledge the Son within, the more the 'blind' assertions fade. Thus the path is interior: rest in the I AM and let the inner voice lead you to true sight and true worship.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, declare 'I AM the Son of God within me now; I believe,' and feel that presence speaking through you. If a limiting judgment arises, revise it by affirming 'I see through the I AM,' allowing inner worship to replace old opinions.
