Eyes Opened by Faith

John 9:30-33 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 9 in context

Scripture Focus

30The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
31Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
32Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
33If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
John 9:30-33

Biblical Context

The formerly blind man testifies that God opened his eyes, and the crowd debates the source of this power. The passage declares that God hears those who worship Him and do His will, and that the healer’s work reveals divine action at work within consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scene you are invited to see the miracle as a symbol of awakening within your own consciousness. The man’s remark about being opened by one they do not know points to the moment when the I AM recognizes its own activity within a situation long deemed external. The statement that God hears those who worship Him and do His will becomes a map for your inner life: to hear is to respond with alignment of thought, feeling, and purpose. When you dwell as a worshipper—trusting and willing the divine order—the outer healer appears as the expression of your own I AM at work. The crowd’s claim about origins and the line about not being able to do anything apart from God reveal that true power rests not in an external agent but in your God-aware state. The miracle of opened eyes is thus the inner vision made visible; authority is the presence of the I AM within you, perceiving and acting through you.

Practice This Now

Assume the state now: I AM awakened; feel the inner sight restored as you worship and align with God’s will.
