Manifesting God’s Works Within
John 9:2-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus tells the disciples that the man’s blindness is not due to sin, but so God’s works can be manifested. He then says he must work the works of God while there is day and that, while in the world, he is the light of the world.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your question about sin is a label placed on an inner condition. Jesus refuses to condemn and points to the inner timing of revelation: the blindness exists so the works of God can be made manifest in consciousness. The man is a state of awareness that presently does not see, and the 'parents' are past identifications. The vow 'I must work the works of Him that sent me' anchors you in action within, not passivity; you are the instrument through which divine activity manifests in your life. 'While it is day' refers to your waking state of consciousness—the present moment in which perception can be rearranged. 'The night cometh' warns that belief in lack or separation will darken perception if you forget the source. 'As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world' declares that your awareness is the light by which appearances are illuminated and transformed. When you shift from problem to presence, when you affirm that the works of God are already underway within you, healing and revelation rise as natural expressions of your true self.
Practice This Now
Assume the simple state: 'I am the light of the world now.' Feel your inner sight brighten, the sense of separation dissolve, and allow God’s works to manifest through your awareness in this moment.
