John 9:18-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
The healed man is questioned by the authorities; his parents defer due to fear of exclusion; ultimately the man must own his own experience and speak for himself.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the Neville perspective the healing is not a medical event but a sign that a new state of consciousness has awakened. The Jews who question him represent the habit of doubt in the conscious mind, insisting on outward proof rather than an inner conviction. The parents symbolize fear-based thinking that would outsource truth to tradition, avoiding the shock of a transformed inner sight. Their reply, 'He is of age; ask him,' reveals how the old conditioning still speaks, seeking external validation rather than honoring an inward revelation. Yet the healed man speaks for himself, proof that the truth of sensation and awareness can stand apart from the crowd's verdict. The scene is a map of exile and return: you may momentarily be banished from the synagogue of public opinion, but the inner light persists and expands. Your work is to identify with the perceiver, to assume the state that sees clearly, and to refuse to trade inner certainty for outer approval. When you inhabit the consciousness that sees, disputed appearances fade and harmony within your own kingdom is restored.
Practice This Now
Assume you are the one who now sees; privately declare 'I am the light of the world' and dwell in that seeing until it becomes your lived awareness.
