Inner Father, Inner Hour

John 8:19-20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 8 in context

Scripture Focus

19Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
20These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
John 8:19-20

Biblical Context

Jesus declares that to know Him is to know the Father, and the hour of action arises from inner readiness rather than external pressure. The treasury scene points to an inner storehouse where truth is kept, waiting for alignment.

Neville's Inner Vision

Whom do you seek? The Father is not distant; He is the I AM you already know as your own awareness. To know Jesus is to know your own inner Father, for they are one consciousness. The temple and treasury are not places in Jerusalem but states of attention you inhabit in waking and dreaming. When they ask, 'Where is thy Father?' the answer comes as you recognize that the Father is the self that says 'I AM.' The hour that spares Jesus from attack is the moment your inner state aligns with this truth; no hands are laid on him because the outer world yields to the inner decision. Your daily practice is to dwell as if this Father within you is awake now, and to act from that sense. Hold faith that God within governs all you perceive, and watch fear dissolve as you live from the one awareness that is both Father and Son.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, repeat 'I AM the Father within me now,' and feel that inner presence governing your thoughts and day. Let inner timing decide your steps, and watch outer events fall into place.
