Two Witnesses Within You

John 8:17-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 8 in context

Scripture Focus

17It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
18I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
John 8:17-18

Biblical Context

It speaks of two witnesses bearing truth—the speaker and the Father who sent him. It points to inner testimony: your sense of self and your I AM align to confirm your imagined reality.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this passage the two witnesses are not two men but two states of consciousness within you. The one who bears witness of himself is the everyday self, the fluctuating sense of “I”; the Father that sent me is the I AM within you, the eternal witness that confirms your chosen state. When you decide in imagination and accept it as true now, you invite the Father’s testimony to join with your own. The outer world then echoes the inner verdict rather than dictating it. Imagination is God, and feeling is the currency of that state. Do not seek proofs in others or in changing circumstances; stand in the inner courtroom and hear the verdict that has already been proclaimed by I AM. If doubt arises, revise the inner decree until the sensation of truth floods your chest. Persist in the inner witness, and the world must realign to reflect your inner confession. The two witnesses become one in consciousness, and through that unity you awaken to the reality your inner testimony created.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the state you desire as already true, and silently declare: I am the witness of this now, and the Father within bears witness with me; feel it real.
