Inner Testimony of the I Am
John 8:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read John 8 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus asserts that his testimony is true because it comes from knowing his origin and destination, a knowledge others cannot discern from appearances.
Neville's Inner Vision
Jesus declares that his testimony is true because it springs from an inner knowing none of the outer witnesses can perceive. In Neville fashion, the I that bears record is the I AM, the being that knows its origin in God and sees its end in God. The world judges by appearances, but the inner man knows where he came from and where he goes—not by time’s chronology, but by the flow of consciousness. Your inner state, not external signs, bears the true record of who you are. When you dwell in a realization of your origin in the All, you do not need others to validate you; their inability to tell whence you came only shows their reliance on sense-appearance. The true record is an inner movement that cannot be contradicted by circumstance, for it is the law of your being. Faithfulness is not to outward proof but to the inner conviction that your life flows from divine source and moves toward divine purpose. The evidence follows the state you consistently inhabit, not the opinions of the multitude.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, place your hand on your chest. Declare I AM aware of my origin in God and my direction toward Him, feeling the truth as present now.
