Beacon Within: The Light of Life

John 8:12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 8 in context

Scripture Focus

12Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:12

Biblical Context

Jesus proclaims I am the light of the world; those who follow me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here the world is not a place but a state of awareness. 'I am the light' is not a distant fact about Jesus; it is a declaration of your own I AM. When you decide to follow this light, you stop thinking from fear and begin thinking from the end—the presence of life, clarity, and direction already within you. Darkness represents unexamined thoughts—doubt, limitation, habit—appearing to surround you only because you have not yet turned your attention to your own luminous center. The light is life-consciousness, and to have it is to be awake in the reality that you are not separate from God but the living expression of God’s awareness. Your attention, your imagination, and your feeling tone are the implements by which you "see" with the light. By dwelling as the light, you do not fight darkness; you displace it by the simmering certainty of the I AM. The more you nourish this inner light, the more your outer experience aligns with this truth.

Practice This Now

Practice: Assume the state 'I am the light of the world' for 5 minutes today, feel a warm radiance filling your chest, and see it erasing darkness around you as you continue.
