Biblical Context
In John 7:40-44, people debate whether Jesus is Prophet or Christ, and a division arises among the crowd. The scene hints that inner beliefs carve outward experience, and unity comes when the inner Christ is acknowledged.
Neville's Inner Vision
What you call the Prophet or the Christ are two faces of the same I AM. The division among the people in the text mirrors the division within your own consciousness when you encounter a sign of your greater self. Some cling to the label Prophet, others claim Christ, while others doubt whether such an authority could arise from your ordinary life in Galilee of limitation. Neville would say: the scripture is an inner map, revealing that when you consider a state of awareness as present, that state will manifest as events, as if the man Jesus stood before you as your own awareness. The crowd’s debate is your own dialog between ministering figures of mind—the prophetic voice and the kingship of Christ. There is no real separation; you merely divide your attention. When you refuse to lay hands on the outcome, you allow the Christ within to emerge, not by force, but by inner alignment with the truth of you.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state, I am the Christ within now. Feel the authority of that awareness and imagine a situation where you previously doubted it, now resolved by this inner declaration.
