Inner Will, Divine Doctrine

John 7:16-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 7 in context

Scripture Focus

16Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
17If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
John 7:16-17

Biblical Context

Jesus states that the doctrine is not His own but that of the One who sent Him; true knowledge comes to those who do the will of God.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the Father’s doctrine does not come from one man’s voice as a private opinion; it flows from the I AM you awaken to as your own true self. Jesus says the teaching is not mine but His that sent me. This is not a line in history but a law in consciousness: you discern a doctrine by the state you hold. When you are willing to do the will of God within, you release the habit of judging from appearances and you listen for the quiet, living pulse of truth. The word 'will' here means the inner choice you make to align with your divine source; as you assume, 'I will do Your will,' you awaken to the inner harmony that proves whether the discourse comes from God or from a mere self-chatter. The test becomes internal: you know the doctrine by the certainty that follows obedience, by the felt sense of rightness in your chest, by the steady quiet you carry after the decision. In that moment, the inner voice becomes the outward teaching you recognize as God’s.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and declare, 'I am willing to do the will of God within me now.' Then rest in the feeling of that alignment until a quiet certainty of truth settles in.
